We headed to a different campus for class today. The main purpose was to attend a show put on by Chuo's Tyco Drum Organization. We got there later in the day at around 3 and had class. It was a little different from the campus we were used to, we weren't on the 14th floor for instance. At any rate, after lass the staff had a little surprise for us before the show, some origami lessons with some students! All of the TNCIS students sat together and did origami with some Japanese students. It was a really enjoyable experience, above is an image of our best attempts of making a traditional crane.
We were lead into an auditorium where there were drums laid our across the stage. We could tell what they were for, but we were not prepared for what it really felt like. At the first hit of the drum sound engulfed the room and took you to another world where you were being lead only by their rhythm. The synchronization that they displayed only showed the amount of practice it took to become so talented. We eventually had a chance to play the drums our selves, but needless to say we couldn't size up to their performance. If you are ever at Chuo University at Tama campus, you must see the Tyco drums. They are magnificent
