An American's Japanese Life VIII

May 21, 2015

Today could have been much better but it was not in vain. My class has planned to go to Oditba Island. I planned to go with them. But sadly, I was left behind while it was looking for my ticket booklet with my passes in it. After running after them, I found out that I was too late. By the time I pulled up to the dock, all I saw to a ferry of my classmates pulling of toward the ocean. I was sadden by the fact that I would not be attend to enjoy what my classmates will for the day that is. I do plan on going on my own time being our departure date. I took advantage of the time that I had to finish up on some work and evaluate so things. After handling some school business, I had to do some personal business.
A friend and I met up with some of your buddies and headed out. They took us to this large mall to popped straight out of the metro lines. It was cool. A 7 story mall right there as soon as you leave the train stations. We explored around a bit looking for certain things like basic gifts and stuff of that nature. Being in a mall that sized, nothing is really easy to find or in this case get to. Quite a bit of walking was involved to get one thing.
During this time, we learned something interesting about our friends. They never been to Asakusa, which is the side city that the hostel is located in. So for a time, we had a change in roles. Instead of them showing us around, it was us showing them around. It was a funny turn of events. The Americans showing Japanese around Japan. We took them to this burger place called Mos Burger. It was one first time eating there and all I can say is "Portions". It was good. I Just needed like two more burgers to actually feel something. While we were eating, our buddies gave of a little Japanese speaking lesson. They told us the common slang that the youth use here. In return, we gave them a little American Slang. It was funny cause that whole night we spoke in slang. It sound we spook broken English and Japanese.
