Akihabara and A Maid Cafe?

Today there were a few interesting things that happened to us, neither better nor worse. First, after class today, we headed to the Panasonic showroom just not too far from us. Once we got their you could immediately notice that it was the business district of Tokyo. Tall buildings and business men and women shuffling about. We stepped into the building that the showroom was on, but believe it or not, it was closed. We were then dismissed and excused from our assignment for that day. I headed back to the hostel with a group and waited until later on to meet up with my buddies Riki and Akihiro.

At 5, Tom, Jason, and I all headed toward the Thunder Gate to meet up with them so we could go to Akihabara. We ended up taking a different line, the JR line, forcing Tom and Jason to buy passes. I, however, had a SUICA card given to me by my friend Allan. At any rate, we headed Akihabara. Upon arrival, you could tell this was where all the younger people hung out. There were Manga and Video Game stores lining the main street. Arcades and maid cafes were all over the place. My buddies took us to our first maid cafe....ever. It was...an experience. Nothing about it was very comfortable to say the least. I just was not the type of environment for us grown men to be in. I cant say that I necessarily enjoyed it.

After that, we immediately headed for some pizza and beer to reinstate our manhoods. To say the least, it works. He had some great conversations with the guys and filled our stomachs and then strolled around the streets for a little while. Finally we headed home to get some studying and homework done. It was a very interesting day indeed.
