Today was a slow day. Not as in the pace at which things occurred, but by the amount of things that occurred. This day had so much potential, but as we all know plans can easily be altered in no time but the slightest thing.
We woke up early this morning around 7:00 am with the rest of my friends because we had to get our tickets for a sumo wrestling event later today. We got on the transit lines and headed the direction we normally do. But instead of going one way on a subway, we went the other way. We arrived at the ticket line where we were counted by the ticket master to get an accurate number of tickets that the group needed. After being counted, we were clear to leave and go to class.
Class was nothing special day, beside everyone being tired due to our early morning call. A cool thing is, one of my Japanese buddies came and sat in our class today. Him being there allowed us to get the Japanese prospective on the topics that we addressed in class. We also learned about conflicts between Austria and Japan dealing with the National Army and defense protocols. After class, our buddy pulled a couple of us aside to discuss and social gather involving the student body of Chuo. Cant't wait for that.
We collected our sumo tickets and traveled to Ginza Station to complete an assignment that was given to us back in class. We had to take pictures of types of stores for marketing and explain why they fit that store categories. My friend and I finished the assignment relatively quickly and return back to our hostel for so much needed sleep. When we woke up, it was time to go to sumo wrestling. A few people from the group went ahead and others followed in later groups. I was in one of the ;ater groups to leave. We were on the way when we got a saddening text. "No sumo today". It was something that we have been wanting for and we are not able to see it today. I'm sure there will be other times. We got two more weeks here anyways.
Instead of going back to the hostel, we decided to go back to Ginza and explore a bit more. We looked around to area to get a good feel of the place. Basically, the whole area is like a upper-class shopping area. There were two of almost every store and five Starbucks coffee shops. We ate at these place that looked expensive but was actually pretty good with the prices. It was called Tokyo's Beer and BBQ. It did not really have much BBQ, but more raw fish. Over all, it was a good place. This day had potential that was not carried out, but it's up to you to make the best out of your day.
