Today was our first day experiencing the rain in Tokyo. Although we were not looking forward to rain, we still made the best out of our visit to the world famous Shibuya Crossing. Because of the rain there were not as many people as there could have been but it was still very busy nonetheless. This spot is known as the biggest scramble in the world and has a live display 24/7 on CNN so I was cool to actually be there in person. We also visited a very famous statue next to the crossing of a dog named Hachiko who waited for his owner every single day for 9 years after the owner's sudden passing.
We then visited the pokemon center which is also located in Shibuya. It was an extremely popular site that was packed full of visitors from all over the world. They had a vast inventory of collectable items. There was also an interactive activity located in the middle of the floor that turned customers into Pikachu characters. I wanted to go inside of Nintendo world, but the crowd was excessive so I chose to explore at the jump shop instead.
In the jump shop, customers had various Shonen Jump character paraphernalia to choose from. This was a smaller store in this particular mall, so it was very overcrowded. The workers on the floor did their best to manage the crowd and keep an orderly line. When I was finished in the shopping center, I navigated my way back to the hostel and it was a very rainy commute.
