Day 2-5
Saturday, May 27, 2023
19th day
We got on a on a Water Taxi to Asakusa-Oidaba. It was more of a future looking ship and I thought because of the way it looked we would go under water, but we didn't. When we got to Asakusa they had a Amusement park, tones of museums, and a mini statue of liberty. We
Ended up going to the Panasonic and it was cute, but I feel like it was meant more for kids. I grabbed food there and had pasta, then this ice cream chocolate waffle. It was amazing and then I went to team lab and it topped disney land for me. The way they had the rooms was breath taking and trippie. My pants got soaked but well worth it, my favorite part was the pool of water with the 3d looking fish and flowers you walked threw. After team lab I was sleepy and headed to the hostel to do homework and sleep.
Day 17
Today was our final day of classes and in marketing we discussed integrated marketing communications or IMC. Advertising is a paid form of communication. It is very important that companies do extensive research on their customers so that money spent on advertising is not wasted. Consumer spending habits as well as how they spend their screen time are constantly being monitored so that marketers understand how to personalize ads for each consumer. Dr. V conducted an exercise where he asked us for the top three apps we spend the most time on and how we think marketers could reach us specifically.
After class I returned to my room and began working on my final report. I spend time analyzing my most and least favorite parts of the trip for section 6 of this report. As I thought about my answers I scrolled through the many photos I have taken on this trip. I am very glad to be here in Japan and I'm glad I have documented my travels so well along the way.
I continued working on this report throughout the night and didn't have any other plans for the night. After working for a while I got hungry and walked across the street to the family mart for dinner. I ended up trying shrimp and pasta for the first time and it tasted better than I expected. One thing I will miss in Japan is the convenience of having these 7/11 and Family Mart items within walking distance.
