At this point I am STILL waking up at 4am. The sun always pops out and makes sure i’m up for the sunrise. I usually fall back asleep but we still had to wake up early for class. After class we had a long time before we went back to Shibuya. I was nervous for rush hour and i was definitely valid in that. Rush hour is CRAZY. We were chest to chest with strangers and most of them were all heading to Shibuya. This was my first rush hour and I was told of the train station workers whose job is to push people on the train because of the crowd. Thankfully, I never encountered them. On the walk to Shibuya Sky I noticed the first homeless people i’ve seen in Japan. It made me realize that throughout cities in the U.S I would’ve seen 20x the homeless population than the one here. Shibuya Sky is located of the 47th floor of the building, which is so high that my ears popped from the change in pressure. It was an entire experience from the elevator concierge to the screens in the elevator. The view was beautiful but not clear since it was rainy that day. Because of the rain the rooftop was closed but it was still an enjoyable experience! The gift shop was cute and I got some snoopy surfing on the Great Wave of Kanagawa merch afterwards which I wasn’t expecting. To end the day we ate overpriced pasta since it was close. The pasta was good but really small for the price. We also ordered a caesar salad that was not at all what we expected. It was three whole leaves off the lettuce head with a small amount of dressing and eggs on top. It was also a restaurant where you had to order your entire meal in the beginning, which was interesting.
