Exploring Asakusa: May 14th

Today at Chuo University I finally made some new friends. Melissa and Oliva were nice enough to let me tag along with them and their buddies to get something to eat. My roommates buddies were very talkative and fun they told me about all the different places they have traveled, one being the USA which they love. I came to realize majority of the students that travel to the USA visit New York probably because it is the closet resemblance to their native country. After lunch, we went to the bookstore to complete an assignment Dr. V gave which caused us to go on a mini scavenger hunt to find wacky product packaging.

On the train ride home everyone including myself was beat but I knew I did not want to end the night early. I met up with a few of the boys to explore the neighborhood, Asakusa. I went into a mall called Rox which resembled a mall I would see in Nashville. Everyone in the mall seemed very friendly execpt the receptionist because she barely blinked or moved. Hmm. Once, I left the store I went looking for the boys but I could not find them. I was confident I knew how to navigate my way back to the hostel so I started walking without them. I ran into two international men that helped me find my hostel. I am not walking again by myself it is too dangerous especially at night.
